Tressell ward report (July 2016)

Ore Business Park

Work on the old Ore Business Park housing development continues, with complaints about lorries using Broomgrove and Hurrell roads for access. Their planning permission specifies that they can’t do that, and that all access to the site should be via Farley Bank, so we’ve passed that on to our enforcement officers.

Ore Community Land Trust

image021OCLT held a successful event in Speckled Wood at the beginning of the month, to get people interested in the woodland now it’s been saved from development. They are also holding their AGM on 23rd July at the Salvation Army Hall on Old London Road, starting at 10am. They desperately need volunteers to help, both with maintenance work in the woodland, and to build a professional organisation that can begin to acquire and manage the land. So if you think you can help, do please get involved. Without an active local trust comprised from local people willing to take on the responsibility for the woodland, its long term survival as open space can’t be guaranteed.
