Hastings Tories defend ‘bedroom tax’

At Wednesday’s full council meeting of Hastings Borough Council, Councillor Andrew Batsford (Labour, St Helens) condemned the Tory’s ill-thought-out and damaging ‘Bedroom Tax’. He described how the the policy punishes and penalises the most vulnerable, the disabled and the least well-off in society. Two thirds of those affected are disabled.
